The journey of Melkodige estate started in the year 1947 on a 20 acre beautiful area brought by Alex Leo Rodrigues. Presently, it is managed scientifically by his professionally qualified grandson Aveen Rodrigues and grand daughter-in-law Yogitha, who have their masters degree in horticulture. In 2013, this estate won the prestigious AAA sustainable quality award.
Process: Natural, Fully ripe mature berries having a brim content of above 20 are selectively hand picked. The berries are spread uniformly in a thin layer, on raised wooden trays and shade dried over a period of 20 days. The coffee is continuously raked to ensure uniform drying. Once dry, coffee is allowed to rest in hessian bags for a month, for the flavours to mature.
Crimson Cherry is a light roast coffee, with pop out flavours like cherry. plum & apricot. The coffee shines through in Pour Over, Kalita & AeroPress. The velvety texture of this coffee and long lasting flavour of stone fruits and cherry, will just brighten your day.
